First hearing my grandfather’s voice
Meet Heber, Milan’s grandfather, who passed away before he was born. Heber became real for him when, a few years ago, he was entrusted with a reel of audio from an interview recorded in 1961. This interview included his first-hand memories of the great Shoshone Chief Washakie coming by the house for a cup of coffee. In an instant, a gentle voice and an amazing story made a grandfather’s life real. This was an early, and powerful moment for us about what it means to have a loved one’s voice and story recorded.
